How Effective Traffic Management
Can Help Australian Industry To Prosper
& Reduce Its Risk & Liability

At TWA we recognise the importance of Australia’s roads and infrastructure, and in particular their relevance to creating and maintaining a prosperous economy. However with a rapidly growing population, the demand on our road network and construction industry continues to rise, much faster than previously predicted.

Many capital cities are now implementing various strategies and initiating new traffic management legislation. Recently, Melbourne has introduced the “Keeping Melbourne Moving” plan. Under this plan, existing road laws (encapsulating traffic management), will be more strictly enforced, along with new extended Clearway times on main arterial roads.

The new plan comes out of consultation from the Premier’s Congestion Roundtable the Premier held earlier in the year with community and industry leaders. Clearly, the Victorian Government means business in this area, announcing available funds of $112.7 million to implement the new project.

In addition to the above Plan, a number of long term Government initiatives to reduce traffic congestion are already in place. These fall within the “Meeting Our Transport Challenges (MOTC) Plan.” This plan will further help reduce congestion on our roads by improving traffic flow and providing greater priority for public transport services.

With this increasing focus on improving our road networks, and new stringent legislation being implemented and enforced for organisations delaying traffic due to road works, we see an ever increasing demand for the services of professional traffic management companies.

Traffic Watch Australia are looking forward to the challenges ahead in keeping Australian traffic on the move, and supporting the various Government measures to meet that end.

We hope you can take the time to explore the rest of our site, and hopefully learn more about the benefits of effective traffic control and the various legal requirements involved in its implementation.
